Home > Sell Your Music
There are quite a few digital retailers out there now. iTunes, of course
is at the top. Many of them you can automatically be submitted for by
signing up through CDBaby.
I love their services, and they keep adding valuable features.
MyMusicSite.com is a free online music community helping independent artists sell and promote their music via downloads and ringtones. MyMusicSite.com is set up in a social networking environment in which users can fully customize their profile pages and use all of MyMusicSite resources to help them promote and sell their music.
MyMusicSite.com charges artists a fee of $0.20 for each downloaded song sold and $2.00 for each album sold and charges
producers $2.00 for each track sold plus 10% of total track sales price. Artists and
producers select the price in which to sell their music. All ringtones have a set price of $1.99 which can't be changed. Artists receive $0.60 for each ringtone that is sold.
Link Music Services provides distribution of your music to the
major distribution outlets, for an upfront fee of $9.99 plus $5.99 to renew annually. Unlike other sites, currently
they let you keep 100 percent of your royalty. That is, they do not keep a cut. It's an interesting concept, and I
am working on releasing "The Best of Mission Man" through them. I have had some issues, and am working to resolve
them. I'll give you an update when I do.
eMusic.com
iTunes
CDBaby - they distribute your
music digitally through their own site, in addition to over 50 digital
retailers, including iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, and Amazon mp3.
AmieStreet.com - their business model is interesting. Many
mp3s are free, and more popular song is, the higher the price becomes, but no song is more than 98 cents.
Amazon mp3
GroupieTunes.com - sell your music as
ringtones, which your fans can have billed directly to their cell phone bill
instead of paying with a credit card. I'll have more details after I go
through the process of signing up.
Napster
PayPlay.fm - Cannot sign up directly currently, need to sign up through CDBaby
Rhapsody
MP3Tunes
